On Tuesday (10 October), at the TPN Nature Education Centre, together with park employees, we held workshops presenting biodiversity research methods based on DNA.

Cooperation with the Tatra National Park is not only about collecting material, but also exchanging scientific and didactic experiences as part of the “Citizen Science” task in the EU Horizon Europe project “Biodiversity Genomics Europe”. On Tuesday (10 October), at the TPN Nature Education Centre, together with park employees, we held workshops presenting DNA-based biodiversity research methods. The meeting participants familiarized themselves with work in a mobile genetic laboratory (BentoLab, ONT). The next day, together with TPN nature educators, we developed proposals for educational activities and games promoting knowledge about the nature of the Tatra Mountains and DNA barcoding. The park employees are a group of wonderful people devoted to their passion for nature. We spent two wonderful days together. More joint research and educational projects dedicated to the nature of the Tatra Mountains await us.
