There was a lot going on last week. Some of us were in the Tatra Mountains, but a strong representation of our Department (Tomasz Mamos, Tomasz Rewicz, Łukasz Trębicki) also participated in the "Train the Trainers" course in Thessaloniki (Greece), organized as part of the EU Horizon Europe project "BGE: Biodiversity Genomics Europe". The main goal of the course was to prepare and test the course program, which will then be used by newly trained instructors to conduct subsequent training sessions in BGE partner institutions. The course included both work in a molecular laboratory, focusing on the isolation of material for genomic research and sequencing of DNA barcodes using Oxford Nanopore Technologies, as well as bioinformatic data analysis. We will use the experience gained not only to enrich the "know how" in our Department, but we will also share it with partners in the Polish Barcode of Life network.
