On November 13-15, a conference was held in Barcelona summarizing the first year of the international EU Horizon Europe project "Biodiversity Genomics Europe", in the implementation of which a strong team takes part (Karolina Bacela, Aleksandra Jablonska, Sylwia Holak, Tomasz Mamos, Tomasz Rewicz, Piotr Gadawski, Łukasz Trębicki, Grzegorz Tończyk, Michał Grabowski) from our department. During the meeting, among project contractors representing 29 countries, we discussed what we have managed to do together so far and how to plan further work within individual working groups. Additionally, Michał Grabowski, the head of our team, was invited to a discussion panel on the development of the European DNA barcoding initiative. In turn, in the evenings we enjoyed the warm, still summer weather and delicious Catalan cuisine. In one word, it was an extremely successful meeting!
